Provecho is back! We were so excited to hear about the reopening of one our favorite restaurants in Vancouver. The first thing I noticed (any long time Provecho guest will know what I am talking about) was the very friendly greeting. It was just my husband and I but we were offered the choice of a two-top or four-top which was unheard of during the previous ownership. We chose the two-top but the owner made sure we knew it was an option. In addition to the excellent customer service, the food was just like we remembered. Not greasy, and all fresh ingredients. After starting with chips and salsa ($5) I ordered the carne asada ($18) burrito. It was on the large side (I was able to eat about half), with a flour tortilla and filled with big chunks of tender, spiced perfectly, tasty steak, black beans (you can choose pinto if desired), cheese, with lettuce and sour cream on the side. It was excellent. My husband chose carne asada street tacos ($16), which came with two and were served on corn tortillas with steak, cheese, cilantro with beans, rice, lettuce and sour cream on the side. He said they were excellent also. Other offerings include quesadillas, enchiladas, nachos, specialty tacos, soups and salads. A must mention is the excellent margaritas served here. The restaurant is clean, decorated with brightly colored walls which add to the vibrant spirit shown here. Welcome back Provecho. We will see you soon!
We went for an early dinner about a week ago. it was our first visit to this restaurant and I was anxious to try it based on Facebook Dining in the Couve group comments. We were greeted immediately by a friendly server who showed us to our table and brought water. We started with the house made tortilla chips and salsa, which are offered for a minimal cost for such quality products. We ordered enchiladas verdes (me) and a burrito (SO). I had the Cadillac margarita with my meal. the margarita was excellent, made correctly with tequila, lime, and orange liqueur. Every other Mexican restaurant I've been to in Vancouver adds horrible sweet and sour and ruins their margaritas. The food was excellent, fresh with generous portions. I took 1/2 of mine home for a future meal. Throughout our meal we experienced great service, the restaurant is cute and clean and although I do also like La Valentina, this is definitely a notch above and 2-3 notches above La Colima.
We had tried to come before, as we had heard great things, and it was closed. They are apparently back open, so we came in. I'm so glad friends recommended this place. The menu is small, but the food was amazing. I got the chicken taco and lentil soup and my partner got the pork enchiladas with green sauce. Everything was delicious. Try the passion fruit kamikasi it is dangerously good.
My favorite authentic Mexican restaurant! So sad when I heard the owners may be retiring, this place opened my eyes to how good a fresh margarita could be! The service has always been stellar, I see many of the same staff through the years, and the vibe is cozy, great for a casual evening with friends. Always packed because this place is genuinely a local favorite!
Best chips and salsa in SW Washington. Both freshly made. I've been going here for years. New owners kept it the same. Grubby!
